I highly recommend taking a taxi for the sole purpose of it being private, comfortable, and having enough room for all your bags.
Taking the bus is the cheapest option and is good for budget travelers. You can take the number 105 or N9 bus from the airport and it will take you directly to Central London. The journey usually takes about 45 minutes, however, I'd only recommend taking a bus over a taxi if you're on a tight budget.
No matter which option you choose, getting to Central London from Heathrow Airport is easy and accessible. If you're not flying into Heathrow, don't worry. The other airports around London also offer similar transportation options.
There are also flights to London from regional airports such as Gatwick and Stansted - which also have taxis available to and from central London. With a little research and planning, you can find the best option for you.
